Week 10: MEASUREMENT & INDICATORS FOR SDGs
Date: 14 May 2025 Course: SCSH1201-Sustainable Development: Issues, Principles and Practices Section: 4 This week, I learned how important measurement tools like indices and indicators are in assessing progress toward sustainable development goals (SDGs). I used to think sustainability was only about environmental protection, but now I understand it's broader and must be measured systematically across social, economic, and environmental areas. Learning about various indices such as the Human Development Index, Ecological Footprint, and Happy Planet Index opened my eyes to how countries and organizations can evaluate well-being and not just economic growth.
